The Most important pictures that often get the least amount of time…
You might be surprised if I told you that some of the most space time in the photography process is just for the bride & groom. Sounds crazy right… but wedding schedules are busy and trying to get all the pre wedding phots in, groups shots, bridal party shots and any other requested shots is right about he time of being late to your reception. Would yo be surprised if I told you that 95% of all the weddings I photograph get behind on schedule prior to the wedding. There are lots of variable to this problem but having a photographer with experience is also what you should consider when hiring one. For me, all photos are important to your story but I think these are the most important. I do not just shoot off a shot list I shoot off my experience and gut feeling on wedding days.
Think about it… unless you have a first look the only time the bride and groom will be together for posed and creative photos is right after the wedding. This is where the bridal party all together pictures and the family pictures take place. Then it is of to the races to get to the reception. If your bride and groom photos are are important you have to carve out the time. I am here to help and give you my experience of photographing well over 200 weddings so you can rest easy on your wedding day knowing that you hired more than a creative photographer but also the experience to make it happened while still having a great time. It is YOUR wedding day I will give you my insight and experience but will do as you like. Once I am hired as your wedding photographer I will always share a more extended thought process and insight in the shooting schedule with my couples so there is always a priority to the must haves which are also making sure we do not overlook the most important couple of the day.
Part of these bride and groom pictures are also having the flexibility to come out for a few moments during the party part of you reception to get those awesome night time wedding photos. For me, aside from sunset and twilight the night time wedding pictures can be some of the most amazing and romantic of your wedding day. Sunset & twilight is another key wedding photo time frame where there is about a 15-20 minute window for awesomeness. That is why I share the style of light so you can see what attracts you and then make sure it is a priority to make it happen.
